Hair Loss Treatment for Women in Orange County, at Home and in Private

Thinning hair is common in women and it is rarely talked about. Hormones, pregnancy, stress, nutrition, thyroid changes and genetics can all play a role. Kaitlyn treats hair loss the way a dermatology practice does, by looking for the cause first, and she does it privately in your home.

Hair restoration for women and men

Kaitlyn regularly treats both men and women for hair loss. This page focuses on women's concerns; men can also book a private assessment and explore PRF hair restoration, supplements and prescription options when appropriate. Visit our PRF Hair Restoration page for care for both men and women.

Common causes of hair loss in women

  • Female pattern thinning: gradual widening of the part or thinning at the crown.
  • Postpartum shedding: heavy shedding in the months after giving birth.
  • Stress related shedding (telogen effluvium): sudden shedding after illness, surgery or a stressful period.
  • Nutritional and hormonal factors: iron, vitamin D, thyroid and other changes that affect growth.

A complete approach, not just injections

Hair restoration works best when several things work together. Your plan may include:

  • PRF injections: growth factors from your own blood, placed into areas of thinning to support the follicles.
  • Physician grade supplements to address internal triggers.
  • Prescription options such as topical or oral medications, when appropriate for you.
  • Therapeutic scalp care and medicated shampoos.
  • Exosomes in select plans.

What to expect

Most women start with a series of three to four monthly PRF sessions. Shedding usually slows first. New growth and better density typically show around three to six months, since hair grows in cycles. Maintenance sessions once or twice a year help hold results. Results vary, and starting early gives the best chance of improvement.

Investment

A single PRF hair session is $700, or $1,800 for a package of three. Supplements are available separately.

Why women choose treatment at home

Many women prefer not to sit in a waiting room for hair loss care. At home, your consultation and treatment are private, unhurried and on your schedule.

Your provider

Every treatment is performed personally by Kaitlyn Lu, PA-C, MSPAS, a California licensed, NCCPA certified physician assistant whose background spans dermatology, Mohs surgery, plastic surgery and hospital medicine. She practices under a written agreement with collaborating physician Heather Lewis, MD, MPH.

We come to you anywhere in Orange County, including Irvine, Newport Beach, Tustin, North Tustin, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach and Orange, with no travel fee inside Orange County. Outside Orange County, travel is $2 per mile. Visits have a $400 minimum, which a group can share.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best hair loss treatment for women?

It depends on the cause. Many women do best with a combined plan: PRF injections, targeted supplements and, when appropriate, prescription treatment. A proper assessment comes first.

Can postpartum hair loss be treated?

Postpartum shedding often improves on its own, but treatment can support regrowth and help if thinning continues. Kaitlyn will review timing if you are breastfeeding.

How long until I see results?

Less shedding usually comes first. Visible regrowth typically appears around three to six months.

Does PRF hurt?

The scalp is numbed first, and most patients describe pressure more than pain.
